KDF Announces Latest Expansion with CNC Routing

KDF has expanded with the addition of the Multicam CNC 3000 series router to its Large Format Division.
This versatile, heavy-duty CNC router enables KDF to precisely cut typical signage and display substrates such as sintra, gatorboard, acrylic and plastic as well as many types of metal and wood. The CNC router has the ability to cut standard to very complex 2D and 3D shapes up to 4'x8'.
The CNC router now gives KDF the ability to produce virtually every component of a project completely in-house. This new machine, along with the use of the Oce' Arizona 350 XT- Flatbed Printer, will allow KDF to control both the lead time and the quality of printing for critical client projects. The CNC router affords KDF unlimited creative control in both the development and production stage of a project.
Recent projects have included retail store signage, custom prototype displays for major retailers, aluminum parts for manufacturers and one-of-a-kind custom plaques.
"There is really nothing we cannot do and it's very exciting. This was truly a natural progression for KDF. We can now offer our clients a wide range of services from simple routing of graphics to prototype development and full production runs of retail displays," says Stephen Hoey, President of KDF.

KDF Kicks Off the NFL Football Season with the New York Jets

KDF kicked off the 2010-2011 NFL football season with their newest client, The New York Jets, with whom KDF is currently working to provide large format graphics for more upcoming home games this season.
On display at the Jets season opener against the Baltimore Ravens was a large-scale mural of legendary Jets running back Curtis Martin's 100th career touchdown, by artist Kurt Wenner. When viewed from a specific angle (marked on the floor with a circle reading "Stand Here") the image takes on a three-dimensional appearance.
KDF is proud to be working with an organization as reputable as The Jets, and the New Meadowlands Stadium is an incredible facility. It was fun being part of the opening night festivities!

KDF Wraps Humongo Nation

KDF recently had the pleasure of wrapping a vehicle for Humongo a digital creative agency that had the awesome idea of traveling up and down the East Coast in a wrapped Ford Flex in what Humongo is calling  Humongo Nation 2010!

Humongo Nation is " a rolling demonstration of social media in action".  Throughout their travels the Humongo Nation team will be utilizing all available social media avenues to document their trip, the people they meet, and even the food they eat!

We strongly suggest you follow the Humongo Nation team and discover where the team and more importantly (to us anyway) where that beautiful KDF wrapped Ford Flex is, who they're meeting and what they're eating.

Check out these pics of the Humongo Nation Wrap and let us know if you have spotted it in a town near you!

Is Investing in Traditional Advertising Insane?

By Matt Valentine

One of the greatest minds the world has ever known, Albert Einstein once described insanity as, “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”. When it comes to marketing and advertising many businesses have gone insane!

Too many businesses are still employing the old traditional tactics. Taking out ads in the Yellow Pages, paying for television ads, newspaper ads, or radio spots, and many have found that no matter how much money they invest into these “traditional” forms of advertising they continually see the same poor results, but continue to invest in them anyway!

Traditional advertising simply is not as effective as it once was. Many factors have converged to make this happen including: audience fragmentation, decreased attention spans, and overexposure to advertising, among others.

In fact, “Many advertisers have pointed out that traditional forms of advertising have become less effective in reaching their consumers, especially the lucrative 25-35 year old demographic. They are out and about and when they are at home, they're either in front of the computer or usually watching cable (digital) television. It has really segregated the market and forced advertisers to look at creative solutions."
- Caroline E. Mayer, The Washington Post.

One of the most creative solutions available in advertising today is a form of non-traditional advertising known as Vehicle Wraps. Vehicle wrapping is “the marketing practice of completely or partially covering (wrapping) a vehicle in an advertisement or livery, thus turning it into a mobile billboard.

Nothing delivers your businesses message as powerfully and boldly as vehicle wrap advertising. More importantly, your message is being delivered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is reaching your customers where they are. Vehicle wraps cannot be ignored, cannot be turned off and actually produce the results you’ve been looking for from traditional advertising.

Vehicle wraps are also the most cost effective form of advertising that exists today. So, stop acting insane by relying on the same tired tactics of traditional advertising. Invest your money today in Vehicle Wraps and get the results you need at a price you can actually live with.
